Sinful Colors Leap Flog

Hey everyone,

I have another Sinful Colors polish today. It's called Leap Flog. This polish came out a while back and recent re-released. Luckily I was able to grab a bottle before it went back into the Nail Polish Vault.

Isn't it pretty? It applies like a dream. 2 super easy to apply coats with a brilliant shine. You can't ask for much more with nail polish. It's a gray blue color and to be honest I expected it to lean more towards green with the name. Leap Flog. Is it supposed to be Leap Frog? Not sure. Either way I love it.

Leap Flog is not part of the store collection so you'll have to look for it in Special Edition displays. I cannot for the life of me remember which display I got this from. It's been a good 3 months since I swatched. Bad blogger. :P

Sinful Colors Vacation Time

Hey everyone,

The polish I have for you today is called Vacation Time and it's by Sinful Colors. To be honest when I first saw this polish I thought it looked kind of grandma-ish. Not sure why just something made me think that. So I put it back on the shelf. And part of my routine at Walgreens is circling the nail polish twice just in case I see something else I might want. On my second go around I saw this polish again and thought, what the heck. Let's buy it.

I honestly couldn't be more pleased. This polish is so pretty. It's a smooth dusty rose shade that I just adore. The formula was a dream. And it's completely covered in 2 coats.

This polish goes so good with my skin tone. My skin is naturally the color of paper, this polish makes this look almost tannish. Success!

Mer-Maid For Each Other by Nicole by OPI

Hey everyone,

The week this polish came out there was actually a coupon in my local paper for Nicole by OPI giving me $1.50 off any bottle. I never purchased Peridot by Chanel or it's many dupes, but I did buy Mer-Maid For Each Other and was pleasantly surprised.

There is nothing that frustrates me more, than when I buy a Duo-Chrome and expect a spectacular finish, to only have it be so thin that you can't tell it ever changed colors. Thank goodness I didn't have to worry about that at all with Mer-Maid for Each Other. This polish was perfect. I love the way it changes colors and the metallic finish. It was exactly what I expected and then some.

This last photo especially shows off how the polish shifts from green to blue.

Now this polish isn't a dupe at all for Peridot, that would be Just Spotted By the Lizard by OPI. This polish is Green to Blue where Peridot and JSBL both shift green to gold. Mer-Maid for Each Other is the perfect for anyone who loves Duo-Chromes, especially green ones.

I Don't Give A Rotterdam by OPI

Hey everyone,

I have quite a few old swatches to post that I've collected over the past month or so since I've been gone. First up from "The Vault" is OPI's I Don't Give A Rotterdam.

I went to my local Kroger a while back and this was on sale, I couldn't resist purchasing it. I Don't Give A Rotterdam is such a pretty periwinkle disguised as a blue polish. And it has a very nice silver shimmer as well. This was from the Holland collection and to be honest was the only one I was really interested in. I completely lucked out just by waiting a few weeks.

As you can see there is a little bit of a visible nail line, but in person you can't see it. If you don't want to see it in pictures another thin could should do it. These photos were taken at 2 coats.

No H8

Hey everyone,

Bullying is not funny. It is not cool. It is not right. And more importantly, it's not okay.

Most of us are, thankfully, residents of countries that support tolerance and many of our families have settled in these places simply for that reason. Generations later, it is our responsibility to perpetuate that message of tolerance across our new social platforms, including the internet.

As members of the nail polish blogging community, we all share a love of beauty, color, and lacquer. Other than that, we are remarkably different: from our race to our religion to our hair color... even our polish application techniques. To marginalize anyone because of those differences is completely unacceptable and today I take a stand against that. I refuse to allow other people's view of "normal" dictate how I behave, believe, and blog.

In solidarity with a multitude of bloggers linked below, my purple manicure represents my proud commitemnt to the No H8 movement. Today, November 8, I dedicate my post to ending bullying of any kind and to encouraging diversity and imperfection among our colorful community.

Here is Sinful Colors' Fig. Fig is a beautiful purple polish with flashes of blue.

This polish applied like a dream and has full coverage at 2 coats. Luckily for me there was no staining.

Everything Floats Down Here by Tara's Nail Polish

Hey everyone,

I have my own polish to show you today. Before Halloween hit I released my Halloween collection. The first to be made was Everything Floats Down here inspired by It. I hate clowns, but I love to be scared. So I couldn't resist making a polish from one more than scared the crap out of me.

Everything Floats Down Here is a red shimmery jelly polish with Red, Blue and Gold hex glitter.

The polish is shown at 2 coats to show off it's jelly consistency. It is my favorite out of the collection. With 3 coats you can build it up to full coverage with no visable nail line. Or wear it as a nice jelly polish over a base for a nice accent.

The link for purchasing is <HERE>. It currently comes in a mini bottle for $3.

Halloween!

Hey everyone!

Another Halloween has come and gone. This year was extra special for me. In April I had my son Andrew and this was his first Halloween.

I went on Etsy and found a Charlie Brown costume. And I just could resist painting my nails like Charlie Brown's shirt.

I used 3 coats of Essence Colour & Go Nail Polish in Mellow Yellow. Then I used a Sally Hansen nail pen in black for the outline and filled it in with an Art Deco long brush in black.

Hope you all enjoyed my Halloween nails and had a great Halloween! Below is a picture of me and my little man!

Oh Ulta how I love you.

Hey everyone,

I know I've been MIA for about 2 months. Life got a little too real and I had to take a break. I'm still making polish for my shop. So please continue to check out my Etsy for your polish needs.

I went to Ulta on Halloween to check out their 2 for $12 OPI deal. Turns out most of them were from the Muppets collection which I wasn't all that interested in. In the back of my Ulta store they have all of their higher priced brands on sale. I was looking through the racks trying to find a good deal and stop my son from pulling out all the shiny ones. That was when I saw it. A stark white OPI polish. No way I thought it couldn't be. But alas it was. My Boyfriend Scales Walls! I thought it had to have been in the wrong section. But no it had the orange sticker. And the best part? It really was on sale!

I seriously love this polish. I completely understand why everyone has been going bananas for this polish. My Boyfriend Scales Walls is a fantastic white polish. With 2 to 3 code it is completely covered and perfectly shiny. If you are looking for the perfect white look no further.
